I was 10th place in a 5 week coding competition. Python was the program used for the competition. During the 5 week span I learned many things about the programming language and got an idea of what life would be as a programmer. I learned the basic principles of Python and it was very beneficial because those basic principles apply to every other programming language. During the competition I learned how to use functions, loops, lists, methods, and create variables. Participating in the competition really helped me improve my skills because coding emphasizes organization and awareness because one letter or number can be the difference between your code working and not working. I also learned that coding is a process where failure is part of the road to success because a program won’t always work the first couple of times, but every failed attempt gets you a step closer to success.
